Alain J. Hanover, MS, OPM
Accelerator Executive CIMIT (Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology) A co-founder of Common Angels, Boston’s leading Boston Angel group, Alain has been a serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist, angel investor, executive, board member, advisor and lecturer for the past 30 years. He has extensive experience in launching numerous startups by bringing high-tech products from labs to market, setting strategy, raising capital, building companies, marketing and sales, making strategic agreements, taking companies public, and buying and selling companies in the areas of IT, electronics, clean energy and medical. Since 1998, he’s invested in more than 20 technology start-ups in IT and electronics, alongside Common Angels and served on many of their boards. He is a Trustee Emeritus of the Mass. Technology Leadership Council and an active mentor at MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service, advising over 12 companies, and is a mentor in the MIT 100K competition. Hanover holds BS degrees in electrical engineering and math from MIT, an MS in applied math from Harvard, and an OPM degree from the Harvard Business School. He’s lectured on business, entrepreneurship, angel and venture capital investing at MIT, Harvard, BU, BC, Babson, Olin, WPI, U Mass, Bentley, Brown, as well as numerous relevant industry conferences and is also an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Bentley University.
